How Do I Renew My Domain Name?
HostGator offers domain registration through two different registrars: LaunchPad and eNom, and for you to manage your domain name(s) with us, a single control panel was created - the Customer Portal.
Renewing domain(s) via the Customer Portal
By default, your LaunchPad domain is set to auto-renew. When the auto-renewal feature is enabled, HostGator will charge the card you have on file or invoice your account.
You have two options for renewing your domain(s). Click the links below for the instructions.
Option 1: Set the domain to Auto-Renew
The Customer Portal allows customers to enable/disable the auto-renewal option. Once enabled, the domain will not be disrupted from the unfortunate event of expiring.
By disabling auto-renew, you will be responsible for manually renewing your domain before the expiration date.
To enable your domain's auto-renewal feature:
- Log in to Customer Portal.
- Click on the Domains tab.
- In the Domains section, you will see the domains attached to your account.
- Locate the domain you wish to modify, then click More.
- Under Domain Overview, look for Auto Renew, then click the Change link.
Alternatively, you can also hover over the left-side menu, then select Auto-Renew.
- Under Domain Auto-Renew, use the toggle to select your preferred auto-renewal setting.
- Click Save Auto-Renew.
Option 2: Renew the domain manually
If you decide to manually renew your domain prior to its expiration date and before its auto-renewal date, you have the ability to do so within your Customer Portal.
- Great news! You may now renew (or extend) your domain manually to its full term.
- Please keep in mind that the renewal of Domain Privacy is separate from the renewal of your domain name. For more information, please check out the article How to enable Domain Privacy.

Not seeing the full term amount of years listed when renewing your domain? ICANN has certain limits on the number of years a domain TLD can be registered. If you are trying to renew a domain the same day you purchased it, the system will show one year less than the full term. If you go to renew the domain the day after, you should see the full amount of years available.
- Click Renew.

To renew a domain that was purchased through eNom's Registry Rocket:
