How to Change WHM Password

Your root password gives you full administrative access to your server through WHM. You can change it at any time from the Customer Portal or directly in WHM. This article walks you through both methods.

Method 1: Via the Customer Portal

To change your root password via the Customer Portal, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Customer Portal.
2. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Hosting and select My Plans.

   
    

3. Locate your hosting package and select View Details.

   
    

4. Click the Reset Password option in the Root Password tile.

   
    

5. Enter your new password and ensure it meets all the requirements. Then, click the Reset Password button to proceed.

   
    

Method 2: Via WHM

1. Log in to WHM directly at https://your-server-hostname:2087, or launch it from the Customer Portal.
   1. Within the Customer Portal, click WHM to log in.

      
       

2. Under Server Configuration, locate the Change Root Password option.

   
    

3. Create and confirm your new root password, then click the Change Password button to proceed.
