HostGator Professional Email - How to Set Up Your Email on Android
Your business inbox can travel with you. Add HostGator Professional Email to Gmail, Samsung Email, Outlook, or any other Android mail app through IMAP, and your messages appear next to your personal accounts.
Below, you'll set up your mailbox in Gmail, find the server settings every Android mail app needs, and learn how to solve the problems people hit most often.
What You Need First
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A working Professional Email mailbox. Don't have one yet? Create it with Professional Email - How to Set up and Create an Email Account. The Professional Email Product Overview compares the plans.
- Your complete email address and its password, for example
[email protected]. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive. - A phone or tablet running Android, a mail app like Gmail, and an internet connection.
- Third-party access enabled. If you haven't done this yet, follow Enable Professional Email Settings for Third-party Email Clients.
Server Settings for Any Android Mail App
In every app, your username is your complete email address and your password is your mailbox password. Use these server values:
| Purpose | Server | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receive mail (IMAP, recommended) | imap.titan.email | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| Receive mail (POP, alternative) | pop.titan.email | 995 | SSL/TLS |
| Send mail (SMTP) | smtp.titan.email | 465 | SSL/TLS |

- Give the account a name, such as Work, add the name your recipients will see, and tap Next.
Using Samsung Email, Outlook, or Another App
Other Android mail apps want the same information, even though their screens and buttons look different. Find the manual setup or IMAP option, then enter your complete address, your password, and the values from the settings table. If you use the Outlook app, How to Configure HostGator's Professional Email in Outlook includes an Android section.
Fixing Common Problems
Find your symptom in the table and try the fix beside it.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| You see an incorrect email or password message | Re-enter your full address and password by hand, with Caps Lock off, instead of using autofill. Typos, an old saved password, or a recent password change usually cause this. If it still fails, reset your mailbox password in your Customer Portal and sign in with the new one. |
| The app won't connect | Your mailbox has to allow third-party apps first. Open Professional Email Webmail, select the gear icon, and allow other apps to connect. Then remove the mailbox from your app and set it up again. |
| Nothing arrives in your inbox | Recheck the receiving settings in your app: server imap.titan.email, port 993, SSL/TLS security, and your full address as the username. Save your changes, then refresh. |
| Mail arrives but won't send | Recheck the sending settings: server smtp.titan.email, port 465, SSL/TLS security, and sign-in turned on with your full address and password. |
| Notifications are late or missing | Android's battery saving can pause background mail checks. Open Settings > Apps, pick your mail app, go to Battery, and choose Unrestricted. Also make sure the app may send notifications. Menu names vary by device. |
