Email Connection Settings
When setting up your email, it is important that your settings match. This article covers a complete set of matching settings to use for each desired email configuration for our servers.

cPanel Servers
For mail hosted on cPanel, you may use the following options for each protocol:
Secure Outgoing Mail Connection Settings
SMTP:

You can either replace example.com with the domain of the email that is pointed to your server or the full.servername.com with your Server name. For Windows, the xx is your server number. These can be found in your Welcome email or at http://portal.hostgator.com under the Settings tab of your selected hosting package.

If mail.example.com is not working (perhaps because you recently changed your domain's DNS), then you can replace it with the IP address or the hostname of the server, which you are on.

These settings are the same for your addon and parked domains (when you are checking email for them and need to set up your account in your email client).
