Many will remember “Billy the Human Billboard“, who we covered in our previous blog post after he received a HostGator tattoo on the back of his neck. Billy’s HostGator tattoo has sparked a range of responses from: people asking to get this done, outrage, and even proposed boycotts.

Someone even went as far as to compare HostGator with human traffickers as you can see in the video below:

Billy has gone on to receive additional tattoos from other companies (27 and counting), moving him closer to his goal of having the most tattoo advertisements in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Since then, Billy is no longer “Billy the Human Billboard”, as he has legally changed his name to “Hostgator Dotcom”.

  1. Anyone find it interesting that both videos use the same background and font for their intros? The dissenter is also a brand new account.

I smell an attempt at a viral campaign not thought through very well.

  2. Its a free country, so if people are willing to get paid to tattoo themselves with brand logos, then hey, its their choice. Common Sense people.

Off topic, its nice to see The Planet’s Evangelical visiting one of his customer’s websites.

  3. Though I support Host Gator (the website), I find this absolutely disgusting.

First of all, by this video and previous videos, obviously something is not right with this guy. Secondly, the fact that HostGator paid a “large sum of money” in support of this guy (who again clearly has something wrong with him) just bothers me. I feel as if you have taken advantage of someone by waving money in there face.

    Sorry HostGator

  4. Way to go HG, I don’t see anything wrong with it and in fact hope you bring Hostgator Dotcom with you to cPanel Conference 2010 to show off!

  5. I can honestly say that my hostgator dotcom is a genuis and I can state that beacuse I am Hostgator Dotcom lol and I can also say that the company is amazing and the best web hosting company out there by far

  6. I dont see why this is a big deal with so many people… He wasnt forced so there is no moral wrong. Hopefully my company will have the fund to do something like this soon hahaha.

    Nice one Host Gator!

  7. Just read your newsletter about the Austin move, etc, and the pics.

Well, yeah, all that’s great and everything.

The pic of the young lady shopping at Target?

She’s seriously cute, even though it’s only a profile shot. Cute. Very.

Do feel free to give her my email address! :)

    Hey thanks!

  8. I’m now thinking of changing my name to Billy Mel Gibby. I wonder if he would pay me. I just want to be more like him. I’d be interested in what he thinks of a “large sum of money” is.

  9. I love it! dont see it as “stupid”, for him it clearly doesnt matter, only for those tight-ass “civilians” who clearly want to walk with the masses, and do (and say) everything society demands from them…TIGHTASSES!!!

this is a man with some balls hangin’ still…
    you checked them resently?

  10. Have found your web page. My pal mentioned it to me before, yet never got around to checking it out until now. I must express, I’m floored. I really enjoyed reading through your posts and will absolutely be back to get more.

  11. I went to jr high and high school with that guy, swear to god. He used to tell everyone that he had been abducted by aliens. He wore turtle necks every single day, and he said he did so because it hid the marks left from aliens. He also told everyone his dad was moving him to alaska, so he could train for the olympics…he was a weird fucking dude!
