Obtaining and Installing WinSCP
WinSCP is a Windows based graphical FTP client. Its primary focus is on security based protocol such as SFTP, SCP and FTP. This software is developed by the open source community and is available free of charge under the GNU General Public License.
WinSCP allows you to transfer files between your local machine and your remote server. It is also a great way to download and manage your files. Among the many features of WinSCP, the most unique is the ability to use SSH and server scripting as well as use directory synchronization between your local machine and remote server.
How to Download
To download WinSCP:
- Go to winscp.net
- Click on the download link in the top navigation bar.
- At the bottom of the page, several install versions will be available. Click the link for the desired version.
The program will then be installed on your computer like any other Windows program.
