HostGator Free to Paid Professional Email
As HostGator continues to find ways to take your email experience to the next level, you can now discover the full range of features in our Professional Email service with our free trial version.
How do I sign up for Free Professional Email?
The Free Professional Email service is only available when you purchase a Shared, WordPress, or eCommerce hosting plan. In your Cart, you will be given the option to add the free trial version of the Professional Email service as an inclusion to your hosting plan.
Please note that the Free Professional Email has the following features:
- The Free Professional Email is only available with the purchase of a Shared, WordPress, or eCommerce hosting plan and cannot be obtained when purchasing a new domain name.
- The free trial version is the Professional Email Standard plan and is available for a 1-month term.
- The free trial version includes 1 mailbox. You cannot add another mailbox to the free trial plan during purchase.
- You can add additional mailboxes to your plan in the Customer Portal. However, these will be paid mailboxes. You will be charged for the additional user(s) immediately, but the charge will be prorated based on the term of your free trial, with the renewal date matching the free trial plan.
By default, the Free Professional Email Standard plan is pre-selected in your Cart when purchasing a Shared, WordPress, or eCommerce hosting plan. It will appear as a separate line item with "Trial" in the product name. You have the option to remove this service from your Cart or opt for the paid version.
What do I do after I sign up for the Free Professional Email service?
Once the Free Professional Email is added to your HostGator account, you can access its management page through your Customer Portal.
During the setup process:
- You need to assign a domain to your Professional Email service.
- You need to create a mailbox.
You will receive notifications, such as a Welcome email and renewal reminders, about your Professional Email. When you access your Professional Email dashboard, you will also be presented with a disclaimer.
What do I do if I want to convert my Free Professional Email to the paid version?
The free trial version of Professional Email is available for only one month. After that, the service will automatically renew for a monthly term at $2.99/month. If you no longer want to use the service, you will need to disable its Auto-Renew feature within your Customer Portal's Renewal Center.
And great news! You can upgrade to the paid version of Professional Email at any time. You can still take advantage of the introductory rate when you upgrade from the free trial to the paid Professional Email with a prorated expiration date of its trial version.
What can I expect from the paid version of Professional Email?
While you can add Professional Email to your Cart when you purchase a hosting plan, you can also add this email service to your account as a standalone product. You can add this email service via your Customer Portal's Marketplace or HostGator front-of-site.
During the purchase process, you will need to enter a domain name and specify the number of users. If you choose the Choose Domain Later option, you can assign a domain to your Professional Email service at a later stage during the setup process.
