Bandwidth Policy and Prices
Understanding your hosting plan's bandwidth policy is important for managing your website's data transfer.
What is Bandwidth?
Bandwidth refers to the amount of data that can be transferred to and from your account in 1 month. For example, when someone downloads a 10 KB file from your website, they consume 10 KB of bandwidth from your account. Also, every time someone visits your site, they download the homepage and, consequently, use bandwidth from your account.
Bandwidth is reset on the 1st of every month, except for VPS. VPS bandwidth is calculated via the billing cycle.
Bandwidth Policy per Hosting Plan
Depending on your hosting plan, the rules for acquiring more bandwidth may vary.
Shared Hosting | Shared hosting customers do not need to request more bandwidth since these accounts have unmetered bandwidth. |
Reseller Hosting |
If you need more bandwidth or disk space, you can configure your account through your WHM. Also, Reseller hosting customers can obtain more bandwidth or disk space by upgrading to a higher-tier plan or ordering a new hosting package. |
VPS Hosting | VPS customers can obtain more bandwidth or disk space by configuring their account through their WHM. They can also choose to upgrade to a higher plan or order a new hosting package with a request to upgrade to a higher-tier plan. |
Dedicated Hosting |
Dedicated hosting plan customers do not need to request more bandwidth since these accounts have unmetered bandwidth. |
