Monitor Your Server's Status

You can monitor your server's status in cPanel and WHM.

In cPanel:

  1. On the right side, scroll down to the General Information section.
  2. In this section, click Server Information

  1. In the left-hand menu, look for a section called Server Status.
  2. Click Service Status.
If you believe you are experiencing a data center or network related issue, please check our network status forum page or contact us via phone or Live Chat for additional information.

How to Know if Your Server is Down

If you cannot access your emails, websites, and control panels, then your server may be down.

Note: Third-party monitoring services may not accurately determine the server status due to the method by which the network up-time is checked remotely. This can cause a discrepancy when compared to the Server Apache status and activity.

Please contact us via phone or Live Chat if you feel your server has been down for any length of time. We will investigate the server availability to determine if any issues have occurred during the reported time.
Shared and Reseller

We monitor all shared servers. If you suspect your server may be down, please phone or Live Chat for confirmation.

You may restart your server (container) via the Virtuozzo Power Panel. Your VZ panel will be available, even when your container is down. Please note, when a VPS is using server resources excessively, we put the VPS on a cool-down period. This essentially shuts down the VPS for 10 minutes, and the owner is notified by email.

If you have any questions about this, please contact us via phone or Live Chat, so that we can diagnose the cause.

Please submit the form at hostgator.com/reboot.php, and we will respond within 15 to 20 minutes.
