This error indicates that the SSL is not correctly installed for the domain you attempted to access the server with securely (when the page is visited with https://) and typically means that the certificate would need to be reinstalled. If you do not have an SSL, you will need to order one to resolve the error:

If you have already purchased an SSL and you are receiving this error after installation is complete, please contact us via phone or chat in order to resolve this issue promptly.

When contacting support, please provide the following:

  1. Your primary domain
  2. The full URL where the error is occurring
  3. The exact error message
  4. Whether HostGator installed the SSL (If we installed the SSL, please include the ticket ID for the installation if available).

Because this error usually pertains to a configuration on the server relating to the SSL, our System Administrators will be glad to evaluate the issue and provide a prompt resolution.
