HostGator has launched unlimited shared Windows web hosting plans, starting at $4.76 per month.
Houston, TX (Web Hosting Industry Review) May 20, 2011 -- Web hosting provider HostGator (www.hostgator.com) announced this week that it has launched an unlimited shared Windows web hosting plan.
The company has pretty soundly established itself as a leader in the Linux hosting business, and one of the largest providers of shared hosting in general. Obviously, adding the affordable Windows hosting plans will expose the company's services to those shared hosting clients who have a reason to require the Windows platform.
This week, it launched two windows hosting packages, offering unlimited storage space and bandwidth, and equipped with Parallels Plesk control panel, Microsoft's IIS, SQL Server 2008 and ASP and ASP.net, beginning at $4.76.
"We are very excited about the launch of our new Windows shared Hosting service. HostGator has been a leader in the Linux hosting industry for a number of years now and we are looking forward to bringing our level of service and reliability to the Windows market at an affordable price," says Taylor Hawes, chief marketing officer at HostGator, quoted in the company's press release.
In the announcement, the company says it will "continue to encompass [its] green hosting initiative, powered by 130 percent wind energy."
According to the Windows-hosting page on the HostGator website, the unlimited Windows plans include a single-domain version, starting at $4.76 and a five-domain version, starting at $14.36 per month.
Last week, HostGator expanded the resources included with its dedicated hosting offering to 10TB.
