WordPress Direct Fix

IndexOf Listing Error

If you are trying to install WordPress Direct and get the IndexOf listing or an incomplete installation, try the following steps to resolve this:

Access the .htaccess File

If you only see IndexOf after installing WordPress, you need to add the following line to the .htaccess file: DirectoryIndex index.php
  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the Files section, click File Manager.

  3. Access the .htaccess file in the WordPress folder, right-click on it and select Edit on the pop-up. Go here to find the Document Root of your website.

  4. In the next pop-up that appears, click Edit to open the Text Editor.

  5. Click Save Changes in the top-right corner after adding. DirectoryIndex index.php.

Delete the default.html Page

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the Files section, click File Manager.

  3. Right-click on the default.html file and select Delete before you attempt the install.
  4. After removing the default.html page, attempt the WordPress Direct installation again.
