Stolen Credit Card, Unauthorized Signup
Did someone make a Fraudulent Charge to your Credit Card or PayPal?
We recommend that you avoid giving out your complete credit card number to anyone unless you are purchasing from someone authorized to take payments for your security. Providing us with the following information will help us find the charge in our system, cancel the offending account and prevent future charges:
For all unauthorized charges:
- Your first and last name.
- The amount of the charge.
- The date of the charge.
Credit Card specific charges:
- The first and last four digits (only) of the credit card (e.g., 1234-XXXX-XXXX-5678.)
- Card type.
- Card expiration date.
- Currency type.
PayPal specific charges
- PayPal ID for the transaction in question.
- PayPal email address.
Important Note: Do not offer the HostGator Support your full credit card number in a chat or call. If you cannot make a payment through your Customer Portal, please contact our us via phone or chat for further assistance.
HostGator will never require your full credit card number to help address a billing issue.
