Stolen Credit Card, Unauthorized Signup
Did Someone Make a Fraudulent Charge to Your Credit Card or PayPal?
For your security, we recommend that you avoid giving out your complete credit card number to anyone unless you are actually making a purchase from someone authorized to take payments. Providing us with the following information will help us find the charge in our system, cancel the offending account and prevent future charges:
For all unauthorized charges:
- Your first and last name.
- The amount of the charge.
- The date of the charge.
Credit Card specific charges:
- The first and last four digits (only) of the credit card (e.g. 1234-XXXX-XXXX-5678.)
- Card type.
- Card expiration date.
- Currency type.
- PayPal ID for the transaction in question.
- PayPal email address.
Please do not offer the HostGator Support Agent your full credit card number. You should never provide a full credit card number to anyone in a chat, a call, or via a ticket. If you are unable to make a payment through your billing account, please contact our phone support for further assistance.
HostGator will never require your full credit card number to help address a billing issue.
