Error code 2

When you are trying to sign up and see "Error code 2", this means you have chosen a domain name which is banned from HostGator. All you need to do is go back and choose a different domain name.

Why is any domain name banned?

Some domain names have copyright and patent protection; others are highly susceptible to phishing and impostor sites. We ban certain names to help prevent this potential internet fraud, regardless if your intentions are malicious or benevolent.

Therefore, HostGator will not be able to make an exception to bypass this error. You must go back and select a new domain name.
