What is the Affiliate Program?

The Affiliate Program for HostGator is a way to earn money for any qualified purchase from your affiliate link that is posted on your website, social media, blog, etc. All Affiliates will start at a base commission of $65. CPA increases are based on performance, conversion rate, customer renewal rate, and your AOV.  

When will I get my payment?

Our standard turnaround for payments is 3 months. This is to account for HostGator’s amazing 30-day money-back guarantee, which makes our hosting risk-free to try!

I am having trouble logging in. What should I do?

If you have forgotten your password/username, please use the prompts on the login pages to assist you in retrieving or resetting your information or contact the Impact support team at the following link: https://app.impact.com/support/support-landing.ihtml

Am I only getting $50 for 6+ sales?

Nope! You can earn upwards of $125/sale with our performance tiers! To learn more about the performance tiers, you can look HERE.

What is the application process, and when will I be approved?

The application process is relatively quick, easy, and FREE! You can find the link to start the application process HERE

We aim to approve applications after a manual review in about 72 hours during regular business hours/non-holidays.  

I was denied for not having enough traffic (no content).

We require that applications are submitted with a functioning URL with relevant content and seem to have some reasonable amounts of traffic driven to the site to ensure that both the affiliate and HostGator have a mutually beneficial partnership. 

These are up to our affiliate team's discretion.

Can I make a commission on addons?

Unfortunately, you cannot earn a commission on addons. HostGator’s Affiliate Program pays on hosting sales ONLY.  

How do I receive my payment?

Depending on the payment processing options Impact has to offer. You can set up your payment preferences through Impact. There are a couple to choose from, so please consult with the platform directly with any specific questions. 

How do you track sales?

You will need to use the dedicated affiliate link that you generate from your Impact dashboard in order to be able to track and earn credit for your customers' hosting purchases.

Am I required to have a hosting account with HostGator to be a part of the Affiliate Program?

Not at all, although many of our customers end up being some of our best advocates! 

Can I purchase on behalf of my clients?

We don’t recommend signing up on another customer’s behalf. If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact us at [email protected].  

How do I generate a tracking link?

You will need to log in to your impact account. Once logged in, on your dashboard, you will see a “create a link” box. In that box, make sure HostGator is the chosen program, and then click on the ‘create’ button.  Your new link will appear below where it says, “Use the URL below”.
