Adding a Text Block Widget to a Page in BaseKit

As of June 19, 2013, BaseKit is unavailable on new Shared (SW) accounts; however, WordPress is an excellent alternative to this builder. The instructions on how to install WordPress are discussed in the article: How to Install WordPress With Softaculous.

Text is one of the most important features of your website, as your text is what describes and sells your site to your viewers. Adding and removing text from your site allows you to manage your content more smoothly and streamlines your website's production.

With BaseKit, you can easily add and remove blocks of text in your website, allowing you to format the text area's size, links, font colors, and style with ease and simplicity.

Before continuing, check out our tutorial video for a visual walkthrough of text blocks in BaseKit:

To add a text block to BaseKit:

  1. Log into BaseKit.
  2. Select Widgets on the left navigation menu and drag and drop the “Text Block widget onto your page.
  3. Once this has been done, a default text box will appear on your page, similar to the one below:

You can edit your text by clicking the settings icon on the widget's left. This will allow you to change font colors and font styles, as well as add and edit links.
