Add Social Buttons/Link Social Accounts

With social media fastly becoming the primary source of online communication today, its no question that you should include all your social outlets on your web page. Since there is a world of different media to choose from, it's essential to understand who your audience is and to be where they are. 

With the Social Elements built into your designer, you can link to your Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google+ accounts and so much more! In this article, we will cover how to add some of the most popular and relevant social media platforms to your Gator website builder as well as Linking Your Accounts and the differences between Social Buttons.

  1. To begin adding your social media account URLs into the website builders Manage Social Links section, follow the steps below and be sure to log into your different media to quickly obtain your URLs when needed.

  2. To access your Manage Social Links menu, click on the Manage gear from your Left-Hand Menu, then select Social.

  3. A pop-up will appear where you can scroll through the available media that you can link. Paste your URLs into the respective entry-boxes and click OK to save.

    You can now add Social Buttons that will automatically link to your profiles.

Social Buttons:

Before you begin adding buttons to your page, first, you'll want to review which options are available and test them out. You can test the different options as well as the look and feel by following the steps below.

Pro Tip: With all the different possibilities, it may seem tempting and logical to put as many options as you can create the pages you design. The best advice is to decide where your audience primarily communicates with your type of content and find a relatable way to reach them using a few of the most popular media platforms.

  • To begin, start by clicking the “+ Elements” tab in your builders Left-Hand Menu.

For example, clicking the Facebook Like Button gives visitors the option of "liking" your page on Facebook, without leaving your website.

Pro Tip: You should place a social media button near content visitors might find engaging or worthy of sharing.

If you want to add a series of social links connected to your social media accounts, click the Social Links Icons button in the Elements section of your dashboard.

  • You can place these anywhere on your page where a website visitor may want to click on your social media account and follow you.
