Add A Hyperlink To An Element
If you've already read the Link Between Pages article for your Gator website, you may now be interested in how to link other Elements of your webpage. As discussed in the Link Between Pages article, you can apply the link methods to any element when you see the universal hyperlink icon from that Elements toolbar.
In this article, we will discuss how to link Elements like images and shapes.
Linking Elements:
Once you’ve added or selected an element, such as an image, or a shape, you can add an external link or link to another page completing the following:
-
First, you'll need to add or select the element by clicking directly on it.
-
Once you select the Element, its toolbar will appear either above or below the element where you will see the Chainlink Icon.
-
You can link to almost any Element; like Images shapes or icons to make unique buttons.
-
You can also highlight text and select the "Attach Link" option from the text toolbar.
-
Once you click on the hyperlink button to attach a link, you will see a pop-up menu appear with several options for linking.
From here, you can:
- Have No Link
- Link to an Existing Page
- Paste in the URL you want to link to
- Link to an Email or Phone number
- Attach a document for downloading.
- Open in New Tab if you don’t want the link to take your visitors away from your website (recommended for external links.)
