The answer is running your own Minecraft server. Below we show you how you can create your very own Minecraft server. It is a bit technical in nature, but if you\u2019re up for the challenge, then keep reading.<\/span><\/p>\n

Make Sure You Have the Right Hardware<\/span><\/h2>\n

You computer hardware must be able to support the multiplayer gaming environment. You don\u2019t need to have a high-end machine, but usually netbooks or smaller notebooks won\u2019t work properly. First, you\u2019ll need to have enough RAM. A good rule of thumb is 1GB of RAM for every four to five players you\u2019re going to host on your server.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond RAM you\u2019ll need to have a fast and stable Internet connection for gameplay to work properly. Install and Setup the Server <\/span><\/h2>\n

Once your computer is ready to go you can begin setting up your server. Below we\u2019ll dive into installing the server on Windows and Mac machines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Windows Installation Instructions<\/span><\/h3>\n

Installing the Minecraft server on your Windows machine is a fairly straightforward process, as you\u2019ll see below.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Update Java<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

For the server to work properly you\u2019ll need to have the latest version of Java installed. To see if your machine is running the latest version of Java navigate to the download page<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Download the Server<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Head over to the Minecraft download page<\/span><\/a>, and download the .jar file under the '\u02dcMultiplayer Server\u2019<\/i> section. Create a dedicated folder on your computer where you\u2019ll have all of the server files stored.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Install the Server<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

For Windows all you have to do is double click on the downloaded file and all of the necessary files will be created, and the server will open.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the server to run properly you\u2019ll need to accept the user agreement. Look for a .txt file titled eula.txt<\/i>. Open the file and change '\u02dceula=false\u2019 to '\u02dceula=true\u2019<\/i>. Save the file and you\u2019ll be all set. <\/span><\/p>\n
